Solvent Vaporization

The extracting solvent in the distillation flask is heated to a boil. Solvent vapors rise through the outer bypass arm of the glassware directly into the condenser above.

Critical Thimble Function

The extraction thimble remains dry inside the extraction chamber, holding the solid sample secure and preventing any sample powder from falling into the lower flask.
